A Plain Memo
What I learned watching rich people use AI — They bought delegation, not better prompts
If you've spent a Sunday afternoon perfecting a prompt template, this one's for you. The "rich people use AI smarter" discourse is selling you a personal-discipline answer to an infrastructure problem.
I spent a week trying to live the way the LinkedIn carousels said high earners live with AI — better prompts, sharper triage, advice instead of drafts. It worked, sort of. But the shape of my day didn't change. Then I went looking for what the executive at 9:02 a.m. is actually doing — and almost none of them are prompting at all.
